Role Summary:

databrackets is seeking a competent and independent Internal Auditor to evaluate the conformity and effective implementation of its inspection-body management system and inspection activities against ISO/IEC 17020. The auditor must remain objective and must not audit their own work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct risk-based internal audits covering all applicable ISO/IEC 17020 requirements and databrackets procedures.
  • Review impartiality, confidentiality, organization, personnel competence, facilities, equipment, inspection methods, records, reports, complaints, appeals, nonconforming work, corrective actions, internal audits and management review.
  • Interview personnel, sample records and inspection files, observe inspection activities and evaluate objective evidence.
  • Issue clear, factual and clause-referenced findings; conduct opening and closing meetings; prepare the audit report.
  • Review root-cause analysis and verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Evaluate readiness and implementation of the transition from ISO/IEC 17020:2012 to ISO/IEC 17020:2026.

Mandatory Qualifications & Competence::

  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020, including the current 2026 edition and relevant 2012-to-2026 transition requirements.
  • Formal internal-auditor or management-system auditor training; knowledge of ISO 19011 audit principles is expected.
  • Practical experience conducting or participating in internal, supplier, accreditation or management-system audits.
  • Relevant experience in inspection, conformity assessment, quality, compliance, technical operations or a related discipline.
  • Ability to plan audits, collect and evaluate evidence, write nonconformities and assess corrective-action effectiveness.
  • Sufficient technical knowledge for the assigned scope, or the ability to work with a competent technical expert.
  • Independence from audited activities, confidentiality and disclosure of actual or potential conflicts of interest.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, science, quality, compliance or a relevant field.
  • ISO/IEC 17020 internal-auditor or lead-auditor training and prior experience with an accredited inspection body.
  • Experience with accreditation assessments, personnel competence systems, equipment traceability and witnessed inspections.

Required Deliverables

  • Conflict-of-interest and confidentiality declarations.
  • Audit plan, checklist or working papers, sampling records and objective evidence.
  • Clause-referenced audit findings and final internal audit report.
  • Corrective-action follow-up and effectiveness-verification report.
